Friday Happy Hour: The Mojito Martini

by admin on April 10, 2009

If you can’t be in the Caribbean, bring the Caribbean to you! This elegant recipe is super easy and will make quite an impression on your dinner guests this holiday weekend. Let the fun begin…
Makes 1 Mojito Martini (double, triple or quadruple as necessary!)
Ingredients
3oz light rum
A handful of fresh mint leaves
2 oz of lime juice (fresh is preferred but bottled is OK)
1 tablespoon of sugar
Directions
Wet the rim of a cocktail glass and press down in sugar to get it on the rim. Put mint leaves, remaining sugar, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Mash (“muddle”) the mint with spoon. Add light rum and ice. Shake, strain, pour. If it’s too tart, add more sugar to the shaker.
Make it a Gift:

Bring a basket or large metal bucket filled with a bottle of light rum, bottle of lime juice, fresh mint leaves and decorative sugars to rim the glass. Be sure to include a stunning set of martini glasses for the host and hostess as well! Check these out! Fabulous and only $6.95 each
