Got Ranch?

by admin on April 19, 2009

I don’t know many people who don’t like Ranch dressing. It is so versatile and can be used as the base for many dips, spreads, and of course salad dressing. Here is a great recipe for a traditional Ranch dressing that you can use “as is” or jazz up with some tips following this recipe.
Ingredients:

3/4 cup mayonnaise

1/2 cup buttermilk

2 tablespoons dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon minced dried onion1 clove garlic — minced

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
Directions:

Mix all ingredients except buttermilk in a small bowl. While stirring, slowly blend in buttermilk. Chill at least 2 hours before using.
Tips:

Add the following to your homemade version or favorite store bought variety for a creative twist…

* For a Mexican twist, add 2 tablespoons of taco sauce or mild salsa and add to your favorite taco salad recipe or veggie tray!

* For a southern twist, add 2 tablespoons of your favorite BBQ sauce. Use as a yummy hamburger topping or as a fantastic dressing for your favorite grilled chicken salad recipe.

* For a spicy kick, add 1-2 tablespoons (to taste) of your favorite hot sauce. Use as great dip for chicken nibblers, tenders, or grilled steak salad.
Make it a Gift: Bottle up your favorite variations, make labels on your computer and take to your next dinner party!
